Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril)

Jatoba, also known as Red Locus, is a tropical hardwood that originates in the forests of Central and South America. This splendidly coloured wood is ideal for both classically romantic and completely modern interiors.
Jatoba is not homogenous in colour but changes gradually from light brown to dark brown with a varied pattern.

On exposure to daylight, Jatoba changes colour to a wonderful deep, warm dark red.
This colour change due to the UV radiation in the sunlight takes several months.
